The members of a Band will simply make or break it, history has proven this with many artistic differences breaking up some of the worlds top acts. Working with like minded, hardworking, committed Musicians is crucial.

Joining and Forming Bands are 2 different things. When joining a Band you are replacing a member of an existing Band, which also brings a few issues you need to think about.

1)An existing Band will most probably have jelled together, you need to be sure you wont upset the foundations of the group or you will end up back where you started.

2)The Band probably have a style that you will need to adapt to, make sure your happy to adapt to that style.

3)An existing band will most likely have a list of songs and commitments. You need to be prepared to learn those songs and honor any commitments that the Band already has.

The golden rule to joining a Band is making sure you will feel Comfortable and Happy being part of the Band. Make sure your flexible and that the rest of the Band are equally flexible towards you. Get to know your new Band mates and make sure you become just that, mates!

Forming a Band is a little different as you can decide the direction of the Band from the start. However you still need to be careful of who you invite to join. Attitude is seriously important, equally as important as their talent. Make sure they are the person for the job or you will end up having to start your search again. Don’t be to hasty with your decision or take up the first offer that comes along.
